Solid Floor Replacement
Normally when our surveyor carries out an inspection of a solid floor, it is sometimes necessary to take core samples of its structure. This will normally tell you if a damp proof membrane is fitted within the floor structure.
However, on a large number of floors this is not necessary as visual evidence together with protimeter readings are sufficient.
Dampness arising from these floors will in the future cause possible attacks to the surrounding timbers and joinery and will also cause deterioration to the floor coverings.
The removal complete of the existing solid floor slab is therefore necessary to a sufficient depth to enable restructure by the use of inert hardcore sand blinded, a 1200 gage damp proof membrane, insulation slabs followed by a concrete finish or other.
